United for Israel takes part in "Walk with Israel"

On May 25th, thousands of people took to the streets of Toronto to participate in the annual Walk with Israel 2025 — an inspiring show of solidarity with the Jewish people and the State of Israel. Among the participants was the United for Israel team, walking shoulder to shoulder with their supporters, friends, and families.

Walk with Israel is an annual event organized by the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto with the City of Toronto. It has been held for more than half a century and has become the largest event of the city’s Jewish community.

In 2025, for the 56th time, the march brought together a record crowd, around 56,000 participants. The route followed Bathurst Street, covering neighborhoods that are central to Toronto’s Jewish life, and concluded at the UJA Sherman Campus.

In a time of rising antisemitism and global instability, the march sent an important message: the Jewish people are united — wherever they are — and the future of Israel matters, both in Canada and around the world.

One especially symbolic moment came as participants passed a section of the street lined on both sides by pro-Palestinian demonstrators.

In the days leading up to the march, pro-Palestinian social media channels promised to disrupt and shut it down. They used intimidation tactics, including disinformation about activists arriving from Amsterdam and veiled threats of violence.

In the end, it became clear: we are strong when we stand together. We’ve always known it but during this march, we could truly feel it.

Why We Marched

For the United for Israel team, this march was far more than symbolic. It was a personal, political, and community decision. We were happy to see so many of our friends and colleagues. We were encouraged by the interest, the conversations, and the many thoughtful questions about the Zionist Congress, our candidates, and our platform.

We marched for:

  • the safety of Jews in Canada

  • the protection of Jewish students on campuses

  • Israel’s sovereignty, innovation, and resilience

  • unity between Russian-speaking Jews and the global Jewish community

  • remind the world: we are here, we are proud, we are engaged

As candidates in the upcoming World Zionist Congress elections, we know this march is only the beginning. Real change happens when we come together, vote, take part in decision-making, and feel the power of our voice.

What’s Next? Your Voice Matters!

From June 5 to 15, 2025, Jews across Canada will be able to vote for their delegates to the 39th World Zionist Congress — the global parliament of the Jewish people.

United for Israel is running as Slate #1. We represent the Russian-speaking Jewish community and are committed to:

  • Funding Jewish education

  • Protecting Jewish students

  • Supporting aliyah

  • Promoting Israeli innovation

  • Strengthening ties between Canada and Israel

Together with United for Israel

Walk with Israel reminded us of something essential: in difficult times, we must stand together. Thank you to everyone who walked beside us, held the flag high, and supported this journey. Let’s carry this energy forward — into the elections and beyond.

We walk together. We build together. Together, we will win.
We are United for Israel, Slate #1 in the 2025 World Zionist Congress elections.
